Character Snapshot
Occupation: Parapsychologist
Drive: Thirst for Knowledge
As an assistant of the famous behaviorist, B.F. Skinner, many are surprised at her interest in the supernatural and her interest in parapsychology. Perhaps it is a reaction to the strict empiricism of the behaviorism embodied by her prior employer, Skinner. Exploring her options, she attended a talk by the famous Carl Jung, and soon became an avid fan. During his visit, she became his friend and he her confidant. Not being married, she is something of an odd woman. Many who know her blame her bullheadedness, but Jung understands her drive to understand the unknowable outweighs domestic concerns.
Connection to Thomas Fell: It started when Jung was curious about an odd necklace he had somehow obtained. Marriette offered to find an expert, and have it assessed, perhaps even find out a bit about it's history. Although Fell could not place the item, their conversation was pleasant and comfortable, lasting well into the night. As Fell's shop was relatively close, Marriette often found herself visiting the shop, and finding time to sit and chat with the fascinating man.
