Good day gents and ladies,

Deveraux Art will be presented this coming Saturday at, excuse me, yes...I am Matthieu Deveraux...yes, I am that Matthieu Deveraux and yes some, no most, no probably everything you have heard is correct except I am not living off my families wealth. I am quite a successful artist. Oh, you do not recall my art? Perhaps my puzzles, most of the puzzle toys my family manufactures are from my ideas, but my art is really what represents me.

I know for some it is a bit, um, avante garde or too intellectual, but the truth is my art shows the beauty of brutal honesty. It forces you to interact with it and to discover the truth within oneself. I am sure you have seen it there is even a piece here at Miskatonic, the large cube with various part of it that move...made of wood and glass and metal, different symbols carved and painted into it...? No? No worries, perhaps you have just not been to that section of campus.

The occult? No, you are thinking of my wife. Yes, I have taken some classes at Miskatonic but that is mainly due to my wife. Before we had children she was quite the wild one. Oh the stories I could...never...share. She is a wonderful Catholic women who just went through an experimental phase and I experimented with her. Until the children she was quite exciting...now...oh we...do not...live together. Her and the children live somewhere less, um, experimental.

I love my children very much, and yes you are correct. I do have a mistress. There is no problem with that don't we all? We are still married we simply do not have that type of relationship, I have that with someone else. No, I am not a womenizer. I am only every with one women sexually at a time, well nevermind. The point is, my wife and I have a great marriage it just does not involve us being together. I provide for my children and her as any man should.

No, I am not an occultist. I explained already that was my, why yes, I have seen some unusual things and work with some people who deal with unusual things but that is not occult that is simply me solving enigmas and that is something I am very good at. That and my art and puzzle craft, and well I am not here to brag about myself, just to remind you that my next art showing is this coming saturday at the L'art de Centre, well next to it actually at the Red Stag Pub, but please come and experience the joy, pain,beauty and terror of Deveraux Art!

Connection to Thomas Fell: Met through family connections and social circles and we hit it off and became good acquaintances and passing friends. We attend similar functions and often discuss enigmas, puzzles, and his unusual "found objects".

Psychologist (Empathy): Once per session you can reduce someone else’s consequence by one level of severity (severe to moderate, moderate to mild, mild to nothing at all) by succeeding on an Empathy roll with a difficulty of Fair (+2) for a mild consequence, Good (+3) for moderate, or Great (+4) for severe. You need to talk with the person you’re treating for at least half an hour in order for them to receive the benefits of this stunt, and you can’t use it on yourself. (Normally, this roll would only start the recovery process, instead of changing the consequence level.)

The Power of Deduction (Investigate): Once per scene you can spend a fate point (and a few minutes of observation) to make a special Investigate roll representing your potent deductive faculties. For each shift you make on this roll you discover or create an aspect, on either the scene or the target of your observations, though you may only invoke one of them for free.

Biologist (Academics): +2 to all Academics rolls relating to the field of biology.
